When Ignorance is Established

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Shaykh Taj ad-Din Abu al-Fadhl Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Atha’illah as-Sakandari (q.s.) said, “Your ignorance is established by your being concerned with the trivial and unconcerned about that which is important.  Be concerned about whether you will die as a Muslim or a disbeliever.  Be concerned about whether you will be damned or felicitous.  Be concerned about the Fire, which is describe as everlasting.  Be concerned about whether you will take the book by right hand or the left.  These are what you should be concerned about.  Do not be concerned about the morsel that you eat or the sip that you drink.  Does a noble king employ you and not feed you?  Do you find yourself in the house of hospitality and feel ignored?  The most beloved of things by which Allah is obeyed is trust in Him.”
